Join us at one of our adult events at the Delta County Public Library.
Bring a friend!

Book Club meets 11 times per calendar year (not in November) and is open to anyone! We read various genres and experience stories we may not choose on our own. Examples: classics, biographies & memoirs, books by a select author, best sellers, historical fiction, mysteries & thrillers, fantasy, books on a specific subject (animals, monsters & villains, libraries etc.). Members take turns providing delicious snacks!

42 Dominoes are seasoned players that are always happy to teach new players. Four are needed for a game so come on over!

Garden/Craft Club is a little paint & glue, a touch of sparkle & color, and plants or seeds. We call on our green thumbs, with a little imagination we make something amazing, whimsical or beautiful. Started Spring 2025 we try for once a month and always have a good time creating together!

Board Game Night IS NEW! Starts October 2025 we are hoping to gather (monthly for now!) those of us who are always up for a game of Monopoly, Rummikube, Scrabble or Racko. Maybe you like Qwerkle or Othello. Or one of the THOUSANDS of card games out there - teach us your favorite!

Bingo is always popular and attracts a full house. We just started this fundraising activity in 2025, so look for this at least a couple times a year.

Chess Club is a summer activity for kids, but adults are also welcome (and we had a few this year!). Yes, we have a local chess expert who teaches the game so if you want to learn, this is the group to join!

Crochet Club invites experienced needleworkers and new students. Bring your project or learn basic stitches, along with others who love the craft. Make some new yarn-loving friends!

Information Presentations are scheduled throughout the year and are open to the public. Various speakers and subjects are offered as they become available, such as local authors, family caregiving & senior financial fraud. Our hope is to make important information and resources more accessible in our community.

The DCPL supports researchers interested in our local history. Even before 1968 when the Patterson Library-Museum was started by the Tom A. Lambeth Dramatic Club there was a private library in a local residence in Cooper. Today, it has grown into a multifaceted community library, catering to the young and old.

Reading is important and the Delta County Public Library provides an updated book collection to accommodate children, youth and adults. If we do not have what you are looking for, let us know. Educational programs, as well as fun activities are held throughout the year. Computers are available for public use.

The current library was originally the historic Cooper Church of Christ. The building was remodeled with a large room for the books and DVD Collection, an area for children and one for youth. If researching your family or local history is your passion, we have a multitude of in-house materials to help you. You will find a collection of Delta County books and materials, as
well as books from other Texas counties and other States. Pictures, school yearbooks, private collections, old phone books, books by local authors, and books on area folklore are also available.

With the support from our community and a community grant from the Legend Bank we have been able to make your visit to our library a pleasant experience.
